Three black-and-white 8 x 10 in. photograph showing the Martian surface as photographed by the Viking Orbiter; [and] four black-and-white photographs depicting a trench dug in the Martian surface by the Viking 1 surface sampler, and the surface sampler itself, which stopped working for unknown reasons after making the scoop on August 3; it subsequently began working again the following week; each photo on Kodak paper with captions on separate sheets.
