Camp Candlesticks Identified to Chaplain Arthur B. Fuller, 16th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Killed in Action at Fredericksburg, Virginia. c. 1861-62, brass cups with a male and female threaded end that crew together, two candleholders, one engraved "Chaplain/A.B. Fuller," the other "16th/Ms. Inf," overall dia. 3 1/2 in.

Provenance: The collection of Nicholas A. Penachio.

Note: Reverend Arthur B. Fuller enlisted in 1861. He had health issues and was honorably discharged to go home and recover on December 10, 1862. The next day, he carried a musket during the Battle of Fredericksburg and was killed in action. Although he had been discharged, his widow was still given a pension for his service.

A few light dings and nicks and a small crack around one of the beaded rims, but in overall very good condition.
