Alexander Megarey Vernier Surveyor's Compass, New York, first half 19th century, 6-in. silvered dial with engraved central star and fleur-de-lis representing north, signed "Alexn. Megarey New York," lacquered brass arms with dual spirit levels, and fine adjustment vernier knob, housed in the original mahogany box, lg. 16 in.

replaced dial glass is loss, original tripod, one side of box is replaced, lacking one sighting vane screw.
