English 18kt Gold Open-face Watch, c. 1900, no. 205625, unsigned enamel roman numeral dial, stem-wind, pin-set movement marked with the number as above and the retailer "A Cleaver, Pontesbury," in an open-face case with cuvette fully engraved for presentation and case back with elaborate monogram, dia. 47 mm, 88g.
Note: The full text of the presentation: "Presented to sergeant H.O. Brown by numerous friends on his return from The South African Campaign as a token of their appreciation of the yeoman service he rendered to his country. Pontesford, July 25: 1901"
