Mahogany Veneer Block-front Dressing Mirror, America, 18th century, the mirror with string inlay frame and carved cresting on a base with single wide center drawer flanked by narrow drawers on a molded base with bracket feet, two drawers inscribed "Ellen August Damon/Charlestown Mass/101 Muir Street" and "Rebecca Damon/101 Muir Street/Charlestown Mass," ht. 21, wd. 17 1/2, dp. 10 in.
Note: Genealogical research reveals an Ellen August Damon born 1820 who married Charles Manning Bowers in Charlestown, Massachusetts in 1841 and died in 1906.
