Both works have been removed from their frames now. The still life with goldenrod is painted on an irregularly cut sheet measuring about 21 1/2 x 11 1/4 inches. the composition's edge has been delineated with a fine pencil line, and within this area the colors are slightly faded and the sheet is gently toned. The margins contain glue and paper residue. There are extensive losses to the margins, especially along the upper edge, but also in the left margin and with a hole near the lower right corner (see images for more info). The edges have masking tape on the reverse.

The white blossoms composition is on a sheet measuring 20 7/8 x 12 3/4 inches, also with a thin pencil border defining the edge of the painting. The sheet is taped to the window mat with masking tape on the reverse. The window mat and a thin liner paper with a gold-painted edge were also glued to the perimeter of the front of the sheet, and are still partially adhered along the bottom 1/3 of the composition. Where the mat has come loose over time, there is glue and paper residue to the surface of the recto, but this damage does not extend into the painted composition. The outer dimensions of the frames are 29 1/2 x 18 inches each.
