Unsigned, identified on a label from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, affixed to the stretcher.
Oil on canvas, 11 1/8 x 12 3/8 in. (28.3 x 31.5 cm),framed.
Condition: Trimmed and lined, craquelure, surface grime.
Provenance: Collection of Miss Mary Lee Ware (1858-1937),by bequest to the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, 1937, as Study of Two Heads; deaccessioned on September 24, 1992; to Christie's New York, European Works of Art, Tapestries, and Furniture, January 13, 1993, Sale 7397, Lot 479, as Man and Woman in a Landscape (fragment), through to the estate of the current owner.
