Two views of the Saturn V rocket on the launch pad before takeoff, Apollo 15, July 1971. The second numbered 'NASA G-72-233' (NASA Goddard) in black on the recto l.l. margin, typed NASA Goddard caption on a label taped to the verso. Two vintage chromogenic prints on resin-coated Kodak paper with 'A Kodak Paper' watermark on the verso, image sizes to 7 1/2 x 9 1/2 in. (18.9 x 24.0 cm),unmatted.
Condition: The first print with multiple fingerprints and scattered handling crimps.

N.B. Lightning streaks through the sky around the Apollo 15 stack of hardware prior to the Apollo 15 launch (first image). A camera positioned at the mobile launcher's 360 foot level recorded this fish eye view of the Apollo 15 space vehicle as it vented liquid oxygen during the "wet" portion of the countdown demonstration test (second image). The huge 363-foot-tall Apollo 15 (Spacecraft 112/Lunar Module 10/Saturn 510) space vehicle was scheduled to launch from Pad A, Launch Complex 39, at 9:34:00:79 p.m. (EDT) on July 26, 1971. The prime crew members for the Apollo 15 mission were astronauts David R. Scott, Commander; James B. Irwin, Lunar Module pilot; and Alfred M.
