Earthrise seen through the spacecraft's window, Apollo 8, December 1968. Vintage chromogenic print on fiber-based Kodak paper with 'A Kodak Paper' watermark on the verso, image size 7 5/8 x 9 1/2 in. (19.2 x 24.0 cm),unmatted.
Condition: Good.
N.B. A very rare photograph of Earthrise captured during the fifth revolution of the spacecraft around the Moon. 'For the astronauts, the most electrifying sight was the Earth rising behind the Moon's bleached and lifeless horizon; indeed, all three felt that they had come all the way to another world to discover the one they had left behind' (Chaikin, Space, p. 52). The NASA negative number is AS8-14-2385.
