18kt Gold and Coral Bracelet Pomellato, c. 1960s, composed of thick textured links with red and pink coral, lg. 8 1/4 in., maker's mark, (missing two cabochons).

From the Collection of Vera Colitti. Vera came to the U.S. from Italy in the 1950s as a fashion model. Her passion for fashion and design inspired her to open a small shop in Millburn, New Jersey, named Eleganza showcasing Italian designers Valentino, Gucci, Walter Albini, Prada and Missoni. The shop became so successful Vera moved to a larger location and renamed the boutique Colitti Collection. Socialites from New York City, including Doris Duke, would come to see what Vera had discovered from her buying trips to Italy. It was during one of these trips in the late 1960s that Vera discovered a new jewelry salon named Pomellato designed by Pino Rabolini. Rabolini wanted his jewelry to have a pret-a-porter feel , a fashion accessory not a status symbol. His textured gold designs set with coral, turquoise, and lapis were a wonderful compliment to the bold colored fashion being shown on the runway. Skinner is pleased to be offering jewelry from the personal collection of the elegant and fabulously chic Vera Colitti.
