Charles Emile Heil (American, 1870-1950)
Two Sketchbooks, one bound, one with loose pages and detached cover, including pencil drawings of animals and birds, various figure and drapery studies, and ink wash and watercolor European views. Bound sketchbook signed "Charles E. Heil" in pencil inside the front cover, several drawings initialed or monogrammed, cover monogrammed and dated "18 CEH [overlapping] 96" inside the front cover and inscribed with a Parisian address, European views occasionally annotated with location, month, and year, sizes to 7 x 10 in., loose works unmatted, unframed, (minor wear, loose pages have been interleaved in a modern marker pad).
