Illustration for Pipe Dreams. Unsigned, with a label from Fred & Jean Marcellino, New York, on the outer cover. Colored pencil on paper, 11 1/2 x 8 3/4 in., unframed. Condition: Laid down on mat board, presented under glassine with an outer paper cover.
Provenance: Acquired by the current owner as a gift from a publishing house employee.
N.B. This work appeared in the July, 1972, National Lampoon Science Fiction Issue as an illustration for "Pipe Dreams" by Chris Miller. The sculpture represented in the illustration is probably Alamo, aka The Astor Cube, by Tony Rosenthal installed on Astor Place in the Village.
