Civil War-era Surgical Kit, Diaries, and Cap Badges from Surgeon Charles B. White, c. mid to late 19th century, a pair of post-Civil War epaulets, three diaries from pre to post war, five cap badges, a tintype image, twelve general staff cuff-size buttons, a letter from White, a magnification glass, a Model 1851 belt plate, and a black-painted tin box containing two small surgical kits.

Note: Surgeon Charles B. White was appointed Assistant Surgeon in September, 1861. He was at the battles of South Mountain, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Chantilly treating wounded. In 1862 he was left treating the wounded after the Battle of Malvern Hill and was captured by Confederate forces. He served till his death at the age of 43 in 1883.
