George II Mahogany Slant-lid Desk, England, signature on drawer c. 1756, lid opens to interior with multiple drawers and correspondence compartments, two hidden horizontal drawers flanking a centralized door with interior hidden drawer bearing inscription, "Sep 23 1756 (indistinct) 6 pounds," above an open compartment and single drawer, lower case with pullout drawer slides, and two short over three long graduated drawers, resting on bracket feet, ht. 42 1/2, wd. 43 1/2, dp. 21 3/4 in.

Overall age-typical wear including scuffs, surface abrasions, some nicks, some stains, front facade left drawer slide recesses into case (see photos.) Left side with restoration to upper part of case, crack on left side, repair to front left leg.
