French Gold and Mother-of-pearl Chatelaine, 19th century, lacking or indistinct maker's mark, several clasps with small gold standard mark, the central painted oval mother-of-pearl plaque featuring putti and a goat, with a silver-gilt clasp to reverse and three hanging elements each with a painted mother-of-pearl plaque: a central portrait and two of Cupid, lg. 7 1/4 in., approx. 50 dwt (including mother-of-pearl and silver elements).

Painted medallions with areas of painting lifting, loss, and surface grime (please see images). Otherwise in good overall condition, gold elements still crisp and detailed. Small abrasion to glass over portrait medallion.
