Description:

Rembrandt van Rijn (Dutch, 1606-1669)

Self-Portrait with Saskia, 1636, a later impression (Bartsch 19, Hind 144, Hollstein 19 iii/iii). Signed and dated "Rembrandt f./1636" in the plate u.l. Etching on paper, plate size approximately 4 1/8 x 3 9/16 in. (10.5 x 9.3 cm), framed.
Condition: Small tear to left margin, glue stains, toning, subtle handling creases, trimmed just outside the plate mark, hinged to back mat along the top edge of the reverse, tape remnants to the perimeter of the reverse.
Estimate $300-500

A late and dry impression that appears to be on wove paper.
