Wedgwood & Bentley Variegated Porphyry Vase and Cover, England, c. 1775, glazed white terra-cotta body, shape no. 41 with gilded maiden head handles, swirled fluting to the bottle-shaped neck above a band of drapery swags bordering elongated gadroons, black basalt plinth with impressed circular mark, ht. 10 3/4 in.

Top rim of vase with a 1/2" rim chip. Gilding well worn to handles and swags. Socle broken and repaired through and with an area of rebreak. Plinth with an edge chip and a corner ground down.
