Lacquered Box and Cover, Japan, Rimpa School, 19th/20th century, decorated with a blossoming plum tree in polychrome lacquers with flowers depicted in ceramic and hardstone inlays against an aogai ground with speckled inlays, the interiors decorated with kinpaku and ginpaku gold leaves, metal rims, signed on base, 7 7/8 x 14 1/4 x 10 3/4 in.
