Three American Flags with History of Ownership in the Sweetser Family of Cumberland, Maine, 19th and 20th century, an early 1870s handmade thirty-seven-star flag, 53 x 82, by Abigail Hill Cutter of Arlington, Massachusetts, and descended to the Sweetser family, according to a handwritten note; a large forty-eight-star flag, 72 x 116, with marker inscription "HERMAN SWEETSER" along the edge; and a modern fifteen-star flag 53 x 59 in., manufactured by Defiance (tears).
