Carved and Painted "HARRY MESSER" Ship's Quarterboard, Bath, Maine, c. 1880, black-painted board with yellow letters, chamfered edges and foliate-carved ends, (old repaint),lg. 136 1/2, ht. 6 5/8 in.

Note: The schooner Harry Messer was launched in 1880. On December 25, 1908, the ship struck Handkerchief Shoal off Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and sank.
