Description:

Paint-decorated Leather Fire Bucket, John Fenno, Boston, Massachusetts, late 18th/early 19th century, green-painted bucket with red edge, the front painted with a floral swag, oval device with an extended hand, flanked by "1790," above scrolls inscribed "NOBIS VICINISQUE/JOHN HARBACH," the back marked twice with maker's mark "I.FENNO" in a sunken cartouche, ht. 12 1/2 in.
Estimate $2,000-3,000

Leather covering of handle intact, but separated in two places; possible old inpainting in old scratches.
