Description:

Printed Salem Marine Society Membership Certificate, late 18th century, printed text within scroll cartouche flanked by four naval scenes and below a large port scene, presented to Benjamin Dunn or Dean, certificate designed by Abajah Northey, Jr., Salem, Massachussets, and printed by Samuel Hill, Boston, in original frame, ht. 10, wd. 11 3/4 in.

Note: Benjamin Dunn was master of the ten gun privateer sloop "Revenge" during the American Revolution.

Paper is toned overall and there is a stain on the center right edge.
