Wedgwood Encaustic Decorated Black Basalt Root Pot, England, late 18th century, rectangular form with scrolled edges, pink and white borders with four paneled sides of cupids supporting a wreath in relief to an iron red ground, impressed mark, ht. 5, lg. 6 1/4 in.

Flat covers and insert cups are composition and not original to the piece. Pot with front twoo feet restored and touch up to enamels of bottom scroll and to very tips at each top corner
