Single parchment leaf with engraved images of a sailing ship and light house, engraved text below, fulfilled by hand; granting the brig Cambrian, Barnabus Smith master, the right to pass without hindrance in international waters, countersigned by Secretary of State John Forsyth, lacking the seal, docketed on verso by the Boston Custom House, noting a change in master to Elisha Holmes (December 1840),with another notation in Spanish, 14 x 11 1/2 in.
