Adams, John (1735-1826) Signed Military Commission, 20 February 1801. Letterpress document printed on parchment and fulfilled by hand, appointing Pearson Titcomb Lieutenant in the second Regiment of Artillerists and Engineers, countersigned by Samuel Dexter (1761-1816) as acting Secretary of War, old folds, seal intact, text faded, Adams's signature stronger, 14 3/4 x 9 3/4 in.
