Ramsden-style Electrostatic Generator, mid to late 19th century, possibly by E.S. Ritchie, Boston, the 13 1/2-in. glass disc mounted to two turned walnut columns with bone handle, dual brass and glass conductors, all mounted to a T-shaped base, lg. 35, ht. 23 in.
Note: A similarly designed instrument with a 40-in. glass disc is at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York.
