Description:

Francis Frith (British, 1822-1898)

Eleven Photographs of Egypt, including three plates from Lower Egypt and Thebes and eight from Upper Egypt and Ethiopia, both published by William Mackensie, London, c. 1863. The majority signed in the negative l.r. or l.l. and identified on pre-printed mounts. Albumen silver prints mounted to paper, image/sheet sizes to 6 5/8 x 8 3/4 in., unmatted, unframed. Condition: Fading, minor wear and scuffing to mounts.

Provenance: Property from the collection of Harvey Shipley Miller, proceeds to benefit the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
