Two Grain-painted and Stenciled Rocking Chairs, 19th century, one with provenance affixed to the underside of the seat with attribution to the Abraham Lincoln family, ht. to 43 1/2 in.
Note: According to accompanying information, the chairs were give by the Lincolns to close family friend "Miss Olmsted" before they moved to Washington, D.C. Miss Olmstead sold the chairs to a Mrs. Touchard. The chairs were later puchased by Ella Bellnap Palmer, of New York who presented them to her son-in-law, Henry Coolidge Learned about 1925.
