Art Nouveau PaillonEnamel Pendant, Attributed to Etienne Tourette, c. 1905, with beetle motifs centering an old European-cut diamond, within a gold frame, 1 3/4 x 1 3/4 in., unmarked, completed by later silk cord and tassel.
Note: Paillon enamel uses intricate ornamental motifs cut out of color foil or gold on successive layers of enamel. Etienne Tourette is a French enamellist known for his use of gold paillons to produce an iridescent effect.
