Pair of Portraits, Reportedly Nathaniel Sharp and Sara Sharp with Her Young Son, Rhode Island
Portrait of Nathaniel dated "1830" on the letter he holds c.l., portrait of Sara signed and dated "A. Steere Pinx 1830" l.l.
Oil on canvas, 40 x 36 in., in giltwood frames.
Condition: Nathaniel with punctures (some repaired),both with scattered retouch.

Note: Nathaniel Sharp reportedly served as the harbormaster in Newport, and his wife Sara was reportedly involved in the founding of the Rhode Island School of Design.
