Condition: Lined, retouch, craquelure.
N.B. A painting of a very similar composition, signed and dated by van Aelst, was sold in 2013 by Kunsthaus Lempertz. Current scholarship suggests that the work at hand may be a 19th century copy.

Frame inscribed "A0591 Vincent Croteau Frame Shop" in pencil on the reverse. Inscribed "2031F" and "NcF 798A" on the stretcher.
