Oil on canvas, 25 x 18 in. (63.5 x 45.0 cm),framed (under glass).
Condition: Small tear c.r. near back leg of the camel, wear to the canvas along the edges of the stretcher including some small holes beneath the frame liner, minor retouch to the sky, fine craquelure, surface grime.
N.B. Although the signature is difficult to read, one interpretation could be "F. Peluso" which would point to Francesco Peluso (Italian, 1836-after 1916). primarily a painter of peasant genre scenes, but who also painted views of the Algerian desert.
