George II Sterling Silver Salver, London, 1740-41, John Tuite, maker, the piecrust rim with shell and scroll accents, engraved coat of arms to center, on four scrolled feet, dia. 19 1/2 in., approx. 88.3 troy oz.

Small break to edge (about 1/2 inch). Surface wear throughout. Probable monogram removal, engraving worn (silver surface slightly weaker). Joints to feet probably restored with rough solder, one with cracks along solder (still stable),another with crack to joint on the backside.
