Description:

Two English Silver Spoons, apostle spoon, bearing marks for 1637-38, maker's mark "RC" with three pellets above, and star below possibly for Richard Crosse, terminal featuring St. Simon Zealotes with a saw and St. Esprit nimbus, back of the bowl pricked "MH/RN/1637," lg. 7 3/8, and a trefid spoon, lacking date mark, probably c. 1685, Thomas Allen, maker, with a pricked monogram to terminal, lg. 7 1/8 in.
Estimate $400-600

Trefid spoon with repair to bowl (solder line visible to reverse side),terminal bent slightly, surface abrasions throughout. Apostle spoon with area of metal fatigue along joint between terminal and stem (see images),figural worn, surface wear throughout, tip of bowl ground down on one side in 1/2 inch area.
