Painted Carving of a Hanging Quail Mounted on Bird's-eye Maple Panel
Signed "A. Pope Jr." l.r.; signed, dated, and inscribed "A. Pope Jr./Boston/Apr 1875" on the reverse.
Carving ht. 12, overall 23 x 15 in., in a burl veneer frame.
Condition: Likely missing a string connecting bird to the screw on which the bird "hangs," paint wear to bird.
