Paint-decorated Bird's-eye Maple Box, Amelia Spooner, Philadelphia, 1826, rectangular, blind dovetail construction, the lid bordered by a leafy vine and painted with a view of a two-story building with cupola surrounded by a tall wall, the front with painted scenes of a house and classical ruins, the sides with flowers, and the back with the inscription "Painted by/Phila Amelia Spooner/1826.," inside a leafy border, ht. 2 1/4, wd. 11 1/4, dp. 3 1/4 in.
