Five Staffordshire Historical Blue Transfer-decorated Table Items, England, second quarter 19th century, a "Doctor Syntax drawing after Nature" plate, with transfer-printed title on back, dia. 10 1/2; a James and Ralph Clews "Doctor Syntax and the Bees" plate with transfer-printed title and impressed Clews mark on the back, dia. 10; a "Doctor Syntax returned from his Tour" plate with transfer-printed title and impressed Clews mark on the back, dia. 8 7/8; a "Quadrupeds" plate with running antelope, dia. 7 1/2; and a James and Ralph Clews "Poseidon" teacup and saucer with impressed Clews mark on back, ht. 2 3/4, dia. 5 7/8 in.
