Mahogany Eglomise Shelf Clock, James Almy, New Bedford, Massachusetts, 1825-35, case by Henry Willard, Boston, the hood with scrolled cresting centering a plinth with brass ball finial, hinged door with eglomise tablet of gray-purple with shell and foliate spandrels above the name "James Almy NEW BEDFORD," within a stenciled floral surround, the door opens to a concave painted iron dial and striking weight-driven movement, the lower mirrored door with convex molded base and turned feet, ht. with finial 34 1/4 in.
