Unsigned.
Oil on canvas, the child sits on a footstool and patterned carpet, 27 1/4 x 22 1/4 in., in an ogee-molded giltwood frame.
Condition: Relined, alligatored surface with inpainting.

Provenance: Mr. and Mrs. William Gunn, Newtonville, Massachusetts; Miss Mary Allis, Fairfield, Connecticut; Stephen Clark, Cooperstown, New York; Property of the Fenimore Art Museum, sold to benefit the Acquisitions Fund.
