5-String Fretless Presentation Banjo, c. 1870, the rosewood neck with inlaid floral and pictorial motifs, the rim with five-pointed stars and tintypes, the fingerboard engraved J.W. Smith, with case. 
 N.B. According to note included with instrument and signed Emma G. Cargill, the banjo was presented to the superintendent of the New York City Central Park Zoo by Tammany Hall.
