Warren, 1839, ruled throughout, hundreds of pages, all filled, recording purchases of eggs, fruit, cheese, socks, brandy, tobacco, potatoes, sugar, salt, tallow, and other general store items, with names, dates, and amounts; bound in contemporary half leather, some damage to binding, staining to contents.
Internal evidence that this book belonged to Valentine Troop (1822-1881),of Anapolis County, Nova Scotia. Likewise, the people listed in the register all seem to be from the same county.
