Militia Rifleman's Cap, c. 1813-20, leather body with rifleman's bugle cap badge, false feathers, brass band around the front, stamped cockade, false morocco flap around the sides and back, partial Morocco chinstrap, a paper label on the inside marked "E.B. MEIGS/Durham Center," and another marked "Capt. E. B. Meigs/10th Company/2nd Regiment of Rifleman," ht. 7 3/4 in.

Some leather loss at the base of the cap, some missing sweatband, in overall good condition.
