Ludlow Family Correspondence, 1776-1799, New York, three letters, a page of accounts, and a receipt; one-page letter, G.H. Ludlow to "Dear Brother," New York, February 14, 1776, regarding the arrival of Generals Lee and Clinton in New York and the nervousness of the inhabitants noting that "the inhabitants remaining Several days in the utmost confusion. Everybody moving then Women & Valuable Effects. Brother Morris was very kind Sent his Waggon & carts & carried out most of ours & Shaws Effects Except Furniture Such as tables Chairs & Desks &c. which are Still with us..."; a one-page letter, Wm. H. Ludlow, addressed "Dear Cousin, March 19, 1793," seeking a Wilton carpet for use in a parlor; a one-page letter, Wm H. Ludlow, addressed "Dear Sir," Claverack, December 16, 1799, regarding settling the estate of George Ludlow; a page of accounts with General Samuel B. Webb dating between 1793 and 1798; and a receipt signed by Henry Ludlow, Claverack, July 3, 1776, for 50 pounds of oakum, framed ht. to 16, wd. to 11 in.
