Napoleonic Grenadier Sword, France, early 19th century, brass hilt with bellflower decoration, applied flaming bomb device on langet, wire-wrapped leather-covered grip, curved blade etched on one side "CHASSEURS A PIED" and the other with defaced etched inscription with replaced engraved inscription "HONNEUR ET PATRIE," with brass-mounted leather scabbard, overall lg. 36 1/8 in.
