Correspondence from staff at Chesterwood indicates that the museum owns two plasters with the title, "Mistletoe." Dated 1923, the plasters are described as "Detail of head of 'Spirit of Giving' for the George R. White Memorial, Boston Public Garden." Known also as "Casting Bread Upon the Waters," the sculpture is located on the northwest corner of the park near the intersection of Beacon and Arlington Streets. It was erected in honor of White's great philanthropy to the city of Boston, and it shows a full length winged female figure, sowing with one arm, while in the other she holds a round basket.
