Oil on panel, 10 1/2 x 8 5/16 in. (26.6 x 21.3 cm),framed.
Condition: Surface grime.
N.B. Inscribed "W.J. Hays (1830-1875) Nation Academy Exhibit 1866" in graphite on the reverse. However, this work is not recorded in Maria Naylor, The National Academy of Design Exhibition Record, 1861-1900 (New York: Kennedy Galleries, 1973).
