Fur-brimmed Winter Hat, China, 19th century, for a sixth grade official, the black silk crown covered with a red silk tassel of twisted cord, topped with an opaque white ball-shaped finial in a metalwork fitting, two inscribed marks on the red cotton lining with one on paper, ht. to 5 1/2, brim dia. to 11 1/2 in.
