Glazed Stoneware Bowl, China, Tang dynasty, the wide bowl with a bulbous silhouette and slightly everted rim, resting on a shallow, thick foot rim enclosing the unglazed domed base, decorated with a translucent caramel-color glaze running from the mouth to a thicker, dark brown glaze at the foot, the inside with an off-white glaze with grayish hues and overall crackling, with five spur marks around the central concave foot, dia. 6 1/4 in.
