Paint-decorated Six-board Chest, probably Schoharie County, New York, early 19th century, with molded lift-top on dovetail-constructed box and bracket feet, grain-painted to resemble exotic wood, the front panel with polychrome depiction of flowers in a vase and the script initials "GL" all bordered by scrolling leaves and flowers, (imperfections),ht. 20 1/2, wd. 41 3/4, dp. 17 in.
