Staffordshire Creamware Covered Tobacco Box, England, c. 1776, round box with threaded lid decorated with lattice border, in imitation of Chinese porcelain, the lid inscribed in blue on the exterior: "John Claytons/Tobackah Box/Hudersfield" and on the interior "Noone of this box/shall be partaker/unless some cucold [sic]/or some cuckold/maker/1776," (minor hairline crack in side),ht. 1 1/4, dia. 3 in.

There is a 1 inch hairline crack on the side extending down from the rim.
